WMGK-FM’s John DeBella Raises Over $143,000 For Local Veterans Through Annual Radiothon

Bala Cynwyd, PA (June 20, 2018): Beasley Media Group, LLC., a subsidiary of Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: BBGI) is proud to announce 102.9 WMGK-FM’s 13th Annual John DeBella Veterans Radiothon raised over $143,000 to benefit local veterans via the Veterans Multi-Service Center (VMC).  The event took place on Friday, June 15th at the National Constitution Center.

The VMC’s mission is to provide services, programs, opportunities and advancement to veterans. Over the past decade, the station has raised over one million dollars to support vets in need.

Rockstar John Fogerty, former leader of Creedence Clearwater Revival, called the radio station to voice his support of the Radiothon. In addition, the Eagles, Yes, Jimmy Buffett, Billy Joel, Phil Collins and Def Leppard’s Rick Allen donated items that were used in a series of eBay auctions that occurred in conjunction with the Radiothon. 

David Oh, the only veteran on Philadelphia City Council, stopped by DeBella’s live broadcast to encourage listeners to make donations. 

WMGK advertisers also showed their generosity.  Large donations came in from Certainteed, Horizon Services, Golden Nugget Casino and Hotel, IBEW Local 98, Always Best Care Philly and Delaware, Creamery Tire, Keswick Cycle, Armor Metals and Recycling, Two Men and A Truck Movers, Norristown Chrysler Dodge Jeep & Ram, Harvest Seasonal Grill and Wine Bar and Philly POPS.
