George G. Beasley: Chairman

George G. Beasley founded the Company in 1961 and serves as Chairman of the Board. Throughout his 56-year radio broadcasting career, Mr. Beasley has received numerous broadcast industry distinctions as well as recognition from various civic and charitable organizations.

Most notably, the Library of American Broadcasting honored him as a 2012 Giants of Broadcasting and in 2011, the Florida Association of Broadcasters named him Broadcaster of the Year. In 2010, the Country Radio Broadcasters awarded Mr. Beasley the Tom Rivers Humanitarian Award and the Nevada Broadcasters Association inducted Mr. Beasley into their Hall of Fame in 2008. Mr. Beasley has consistently been acknowledged by Radio Ink magazine in their annual “Forty Most Powerful People in Radio” issue and the Broadcasters’ Foundation has bestowed upon Mr. Beasley their prestigious Broadcast Pioneer Award. It was in North Carolina that Mr. Beasley began his career and he served the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters (NCAB) for eight years as President, Vice President and member of the Board of Directors. Mr. Beasley was honored with the NCAB’s Association’s Distinguished Service Award in 1996 and was inducted into NCAB’s Hall of Fame in 1998 upon receiving the prestigious Distinguished Broadcaster of North Carolina Award.

Mr. Beasley earned a B.A. and M.A. from Appalachian State University, and was recognized in 1990 as one of Appalachian State University’s Distinguished Alumni. He has served the University as both chairman of the Appalachian State University Foundation Board of Directors and a member of the Appalachian State University Board of Trustees. He is most proud of the George G. Beasley Media Complex which stands as a promise that future generations of ASU students will also have the opportunity to pursue their entrepreneurial dreams in broadcasting.


Bruce G. Beasley: President
With BBGI Since: 1975

Bruce G. Beasley has served as President of Beasley Broadcast Group since 1997. He began his career in the broadcasting industry with Beasley Broadcast Group in 1975 and has served in various capacities including General Sales Manager, General Manager of a major market radio station and as Vice President of Operations.

Currently, Mr. Beasley oversees the operations of all Beasley Broadcast Group radio stations. He serves on the Board of Directors of the Radio Advertising Bureau. He graduated with a B.S. degree from East Carolina University.


B. Caroline Beasley: Chief Executive Officer

Caroline Beasley serves as the Chief Executive Officer of the Naples, Florida-based Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: BBGI). She has played a major role in shaping the company founded in 1961 by her father, Chairman George G. Beasley.

Ms. Beasley was appointed Chief Executive Officer of Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc. on January 1, 2017, previously serving as interim Chief Executive Officer from March 18, 2016 until December 31st, 2016 and as Executive Vice President, Chief Financial Officer, Treasurer and Secretary beginning in 1994.

She currently serves on the Board of Directors of BMI. In addition, Ms. Beasley is a member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), and previously served on the Radio Executive Committee of the NAB Board of Directors. She is a past Chairman of the NAB Radio Board, and was elected to serve once again as Radio Board Chair in January 2017.

In addition, Ms. Beasley is a member of The Broadcasters Foundation of America Board of Directors.

In 2017, she was honored by Radio Ink magazine as “Radio Executive of the Year”. Ms. Beasley was named one of the “40 Most Powerful People in Radio” in 2011, 2012 and 2016. In addition, she has been recognized in the magazine’s “Most Influential Women in Radio” listing on an annual basis since 2003.

Ms. Beasley received the 2016 “Distinguished Service Award” from the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters and was the 2012 recipient of the “Frances Preston Trailblazer Award” from the Mentoring and Inspiring Women in Radio Group (MIW), a national organization dedicated to promoting the advancement of women to senior positions in the radio industry.

Ms. Beasley is a member of the Board of Visitors at her alma mater, the University of North Carolina, where she earned a B.S. degree.


Brian E. Beasley: Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer
With BBGI Since: 1977

Brian Beasley has served as one of the Company’s directors since 1982, which is the year he joined the Company full-time as General Manager of the previously-owned cable TV division. In this capacity, he built, managed and sold cable television systems throughout North Carolina.

In 1985, Mr. Beasley became Senior Account Executive of a radio station. From this position he worked his way up through the management ranks to General Sales Manager and then General Manager of numerous radio stations in both mid- and large-size markets. In 1997, he was promoted to Vice President of Operations. When Beasley Broadcast became a publicly traded company in 2000, he moved his office to the corporate headquarters; where today he serves as Executive Vice President of Operations.

Brian is a former President of Piedmont Radio Association and former Director of the North Carolina Association of Broadcasters. Additionally, he is also a member of the Radio Advertising Bureau, the National Association of Broadcasters and he holds a CRMC designation (Credited Radio Marketing Consultant). He graduated from East Carolina University in 1982 with a B.S./B.A. in Business Administration.


Justin Chase: Executive Vice President of Programming

Justin Chase serves as Executive Vice President of Programming for Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc. In this capacity, he oversees all programming aspects for Beasley’s portfolio of radio stations. Before his promotion to the corporate office in 2013, Justin served as Operations Manager for Beasley Broadcast Group’s four music stations in Las Vegas, KCYE-FM, KKLZ-FM, KOAS-FM and KVGS-FM in Las Vegas.

Justin joined Beasley Las Vegas in 2009. Among his many honors and recognitions, Justin has earned Beasley’s Program Director of the Year award, has twice been named one of the Best Programmers in Radio by Radio INK magazine, Program Director of the Year by the radio trade magazine FMQB and also inducted into FMQB’s Hall of Fame. Under Justin’s leadership, his radio stations have been named Marconi Awards Finalists, awarded Hot AC Station of the Year by Radio & Records magazine and earned Most Intriguing Station of the Year by Edison Media.


Michael Cooney: Chief Technology Officer/ Vice President of Engineering
With BBGI Since: 2007

Mike Cooney is responsible for the general supervision and oversight of all engineering and technology matters for Beasley’s portfolio of radio stations. Additionally, he is integrally involved with management of the capital budgets and also the Company’s HD Radio initiative. Mr. Cooney is Chairman of the National Association of Broadcasters Radio Technical Committee, a member of the Technical Committee for the Broadcast Traffic Consortium (BTC) and a radio representative for the NAB FastRoads Committee. He has participated on the Broadcast Engineering Conference Committee and has presented at multiple NAB conferences.

Mike is a Certified Engineer for the Society of Broadcast Engineers (CBRE), FCC First Class license holder and certified electronic technician. He has been in corporate engineering management for over twenty years, designing and building radio and TV facilities world-wide, most notably as design engineer and project manager of one of the largest radio facilities in the United States.


Buzz Knight:Vice President of Programming

Buzz Knight was named Vice President of Programming in 2016, following the completion of Beasley Broadcast Group’s acquisition of Greater Media, Inc. 

Knight most recently served as Senior Vice President of Program Development for Greater Media, Inc., where he spent 14 years and was responsible for overseeing content and brand strategies for the company. Prior to that, the radio veteran worked as program director at several stations, including CBS Radio Boston’s WZLX-FM, Saga Communications Norfolk’s WNOR- FM and Great American Columbus’ WLVQ-FM. In addition, he was a member of the on-air talent team at WNEW-FM in New York City.

Knight began his broadcasting career at WRKI-FM in Fairfield County, Connecticut after graduating from the University of Dayton.

He currently serves on several industry audience measurement advisory boards, including: The Nielsen Audio Advisory Council, The National Radio Hall of Fame Nominating Committee, The National Association of Broadcasting Committee on Local Audience Radio Audience Measurement (COLRAM) and The Council for Research Excellence (CRE), where Knight volunteers as chairman of the Audio Committee.


Heidi Raphael: Vice President, Corporate Communications

Heidi Raphael serves as Vice President of Corporate Communications for Beasley Media Group, Inc. Heidi has more than twenty years of experience in the broadcasting industry, providing leadership in overseeing all aspects of communications, branding and marketing.

She has been recognized among the “Most Influential Women in Radio” by Radio Ink magazine, a leading national industry publication, on an annual basis since 2006.
The radio veteran began her broadcasting career in Buffalo, New York. She went on to work in Cleveland, Ohio, before being recruited to serve at Greater Media in 1996 as Marketing Director of WRIF-FM in Detroit, Michigan. Heidi was subsequently promoted to Director of Group Marketing, overseeing the combined marketing efforts for WRIF-FM, WCSX-FM and WMGC-FM in the Motor City. In this role she led several major accomplishments and innovations, including the development of a non-traditional revenue department for WGRV-FM in Detroit, which later became WMGC-FM.

In January 2005, Heidi was named Director of Corporate Communications at the company’s Braintree, Massachusetts-based corporate headquarters. She was subsequently promoted to the positions of Vice President in February 2008 and Senior Vice President in March 2016. She joined Beasley Media Group as Vice President of Corporate Communications in 2017.

Heidi has been a leading voice in national radio and media issues. She currently serves on the Board of Directors of the Library of American Broadcasting. In addition, the radio veteran is a past elected member of the Board of Directors of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB) and the national Alliance for Women in Media (AWM), both based in Washington, D.C. She is also a past official spokesperson of the national Mentoring & Inspiring Women in Radio Group.

Heidi was recognized as a one of Western New York’s 2016 Women of Influence by Buffalo Business First for her professional experience and community involvement.

The Western New York native received her undergraduate degree in Media Communications from Medaille College and a Master of Arts degree in Organizational Management from the University of Phoenix.


Joyce Fitch, Esq: General Counsel

With BBGI Since: 2003

Joyce Fitch, Esq. has served as General Counsel for Beasley Broadcast Group since 2003. She brings over thirty years of legal experience to the Company, having begun her legal career as a trial attorney with the law firm of Whiteford, Taylor & Preston in Baltimore and later served as General Counsel for Magellan Behavioral Health, Inc. and iSky, Inc. Prior to joining Beasley, she was Assistant General Counsel to Rotech Healthcare, Inc. Joyce graduated with honors from the University of Maryland School of Law. Although only licensed as an attorney in Maryland, Joyce is certified as authorized house counsel in Florida.

Joyce is currently a member of the Board of Directors for the Radio Music License Committee and she serves on the Board of Managers of the Traffic Consortium, LLC. Additionally, she is a member of the Alliance for Women in Media. Joyce served as one of the 2016 Judges for the annual Gracie Awards, which recognizes programming designed by women in all facets of media and entertainment.

Joyce has been a member of the Board of Directors for Youth Haven, a Naples, FL facility providing shelter and counseling to abused and neglected children. She has also served on the Board of Directors for the Shelter for Abused Women and Children in Naples, FL.


Shaun Greening: Vice President Financial Reporting
With BBGI Since: 2000

Shaun P. Greening, a native of New Zealand, serves as Vice President of Financial Reporting for the Company. He joined Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc. in February of 2000 as the Company completed its initial public offering. Mr. Greening previously served as an Audit Manager for KPMG in Tampa, FL. He is a graduate of Victoria University of Wellington, New Zealand with a Bachelor of Commerce and Administration. Shaun holds a CPA license from the state of Florida. In the local Naples community, Shaun helps manage the Optimist Club of Naples Soccer Program, and volunteers in middle and high school classrooms on behalf of Junior Achievement of Southwest Florida. Additionally, he serves on the Finance Council of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church.


Steve Meyers: Executive Vice President of Digital
With BBGI Since: 2016

Steve Meyers was named Executive Vice President of Digital in 2017. He is responsible for overseeing the company’s Charlotte and Detroit corporate digital teams.

Mr. Meyers joined Beasley Media Group as the Director of Digital Operations in November of 2016. Prior to that, he led the digital division as the Director of Digital Operations at Greater Media, where Meyers was responsible for helping to grow the company’s audiences and revenue by developing digital platforms as well as provide new opportunities for the company’s commercial partners.


Kimberly R. Sonneborn: Vice President of Digital Product Development
With BBGI Since: 2000

Kimberly Sonneborn was named Beasley’s Vice President of Digital Design and Production in 2010. She oversees all digital projects, from conception to launch and is responsible for formulating the initial design concepts and then determining the most appropriate manner in which to present digital projects to both station personnel and advertisers. Her team of designers and programmers serve as a liaison between Beasley colleagues in technology and those in sales and programming.

Kimberly joined Beasley Broadcast Group as Interactive Coordinator in 2000 following her graduation from Liberty University and in that capacity built the Company’s interactive department. She obtained degrees in Public Relations and Graphic Design, graduated first in her class in graphic design and was also the recipient of Liberty University’s top graphic design award.


Marie Tedesco: Chief Financial Officer
With BBGI Since: 1991

Marie Tedesco, a native of Sweden, serves as the Company’s Vice President of Finance. Ms. Tedesco began her radio career in Los Angeles in 1982 working with Radio & Records, Inc., Westwood One and NBC Radio, where she was involved in the launching of Pirate Radio in 1989.

In 1991, Ms. Tedesco joined Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc. as Corporate Controller. She was later promoted to Vice President of Finance. She graduated from UCLA with a B.S. in Finance.
