The first ever Kathy\’s Cuts event in 2008 was right here in WMMR\’s Green Room. It\’s amazing to see how far this event has grown in 11years!
It kicked off with Kathy Romano donating her hair then two or three stylists collecting hair donations from a handful of listeners.
11 years and about 1200 ponytails later, we now have three hair salons generously shutting down for the morning so their staff can man the chairs at TruBeauty Concepts.
Each of the hundreds of generous fans who come out to donate their hair to Wigs for Kids receives a brand new, stylish, short hairdo and the gratification of helping someone in need.
Perhaps that\’s why we see so many repeat donors year after year.
This year\’s event was held on Friday, April 13th and the team saw 123 ponytails were cut, and new, shorter hairstyles were born – all in one morning, in addition to over $2,000 raised for the charity!
