Job description:

  • Plan and oversee the street team schedule for station events, concerts, promotional activities, and special projects for the radio stations in the Tampa Market.
  • Assist the digital department in growing our digital and social reach using our Street Team.
  • Recruit, develop, and retain outstanding promotions staff employees.
  • Collaborates with multiple departments to create and execute promotions such as remotes, events, van hits, and other street team activities from start to finish.
  • Act as company liaison with event organizers and attend client meetings with sales managers as needed to plan events and event logistics.
  • Organize and maintain station vehicles and promotional equipment.
  • Works with Promotions Directors on website updates and social media platform management.

Qualifications

  • Attends all Promotion (and Sales) Meetings to represent market digital content efforts and goals are considered and can help drive success during ideation and planning.
  • Oversees use of the approved digital contesting vendor platforms, social and texting platforms and works with the Promotion Director and team on the implementation of programs on each platform.
  • Assures that market team members are complying with Beasley Media Group and FTC and data privacy rules and guidelines.
  • Collaborates with sales teams on advertisement-based content strategies to ensure best practices are being followed to maximize success of programs created.
  • Oversee digital equipment working with IT and Engineering to determine local equipment needs and services.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Creative and highly motivated to deliver content excellence within any given assigned parameters and topics—while capturing the vibe and humor of our brands and formats.
  • Has an inquisitive nature and is dialed into pop culture.
  • Able to thrive within a fast-paced environment and multi-task in an organized, professional, dependable manner.
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism or mass communications required with excellent grammar and writing skills are essential, along with a visual sensibility.

This is a rare opportunity to join a major market radio engineering team to work with state-of-the-art technology at Boston’s Beasley Media Group, which owns and operates 6 major radio stations in a brand-new facility.  Also, as the flagship for four of Boston’s professional sports teams, this position includes the opportunity to work on-site for live remotes including play-by-play sports broadcasts. Reporting to the Director of Engineering and IT, your duties include, but are not limited to, studio and transmitter maintenance and construction, remote broadcast engineering, as well as troubleshooting RF Systems, audio routing systems, and working with corporate and local IT. The ideal candidate will be successful in working well with the staff, thinking clearly under pressure, and applying creative solutions in a timely manner.

Qualifications:

  • Two-year technical degree and 3 years experience in a related field or
  • Minimum of 5 years of radio engineering experience
  • Knowledge of RF Systems and RF troubleshooting skills a plus
  • Experience with radio studio construction and maintenance
  • Experience with WideOrbit Radio Automation software is preferred, but not required
  • Ability to provide helpdesk support to end users for Microsoft Operating Systems
  • Knowledge of commonly used concepts, practices, and procedures regarding Networking
  • Must be able to lift 50 pounds
  • Must be willing to work off hours and be on call
  • Ensure compliance with FCC Rules and Regulations
  • SBE Certification a plus
  • Strong communication skills
  • Valid drivers’ license, vehicle and vehicle insurance are required
