WMGK-FM John DeBella Turkey Drop Helps Families Who Can’t Afford Holiday Meal

Bala Cynwyd, PA (November 1, 2018):  Beasley Media Group (NASDAQ: BBGI) announces the Annual 102.9 WMGK-FM John DeBella Turkey Drop will take place on Tuesday, November 20th from 6 am to 9 am outside The Kimmel Center (300 S. Broad Street) in Philadelphia. The event is the largest, one-day food gathering event of its kind in Philadelphia. 

Legendary station morning Show Host John DeBella will broadcast live from the event and accept monetary and turkey donations to benefit City Team Philadelphia, a non-profit organization which provides food and services year-round to less fortunate individuals, families, shelters, and agencies in the local community. Last year\’s event raised more than 12,800 turkeys. 

In addition, members of the WMGK-FM on-air staff will be accepting donations at nine additional locations, including twelve ACME Market locations located throughout Pennsylvania, New Jersey and Delaware.

Donations can include frozen turkeys, “free turkey” coupons and cash donations, as well as checks made out to City Team Philadelphia.  No food other than turkeys can be accepted. 

In addition, listeners will be able to make a secure, tax-deductible donation online by going to www.wmgk.com and typing in the keyword TURKEY.

Thousands of families and individuals have benefited from WMGK’s Turkey Drop. This year’s assistance lines stretched from inside City Team’s Chester, PA headquarters and around the block to over the 7th Street Bridge. The non-profit organization has noticed an increase in the number of people asking for assistance this year, ranging from ‘working poor’ families and people injured on the job to women who have left abusive relationships.
