Beasley Media Group’s Community of Caring Initiative and WJBR-FM in Wilmington were named among the honorees during the 2022 National Association Service to America Awards. The event took place on Tuesday, June 6th at the Anthem in Washington, DC.
The annual celebration, presented by the NAB Leadership Foundation (NABLF), the philanthropic arm of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), pays tribute to the outstanding public service commitment of local radio and television broadcasters.
The company was honored in recognition its 2021 Beasley Best Community of Caring companywide public service initiative, which ran throughout the year and featured a series of public service campaigns focused on quarterly topics that shined a spotlight on mental health awareness for Veterans, diversity, physical fitness, the environment, and vaccinations for community immunity. In addition, Beasley Media Group’s WJBR-FM in Wilmington, Delaware WMMR-FM was selected in the middle market category for the station’s two-day “Help Our Kids Radiothon\” which raised a record breaking nearly $400,000 benefit Nemours Children’s Hospital in Wilmington, Delaware.
