Rush Street Interactive, Inc. (NYSE: RSI) (“RSI”) achieved a milestone on Friday when Detroit radio host, and public address announcer for the Detroit Pistons, John Mason, placed RSI’s first ever legal online bet in Michigan live on-air through its online casino and sportsbook site, BetRivers.com. The radio host known on-air as “Mason”, became the first Michigander to make a legal bet on the site, placing his $100 bet on Tampa Bay Buccaneers +3.5 (-110) in Sunday’s NFC Championship game showdown. He placed this bet because Buccaneers’ quarterback Tom Brady is from Michigan.
An Emmy Award-winning radio host in Detroit for over three decades, Mason has also become nationally recognized for his public address at Detroit Pistons home games and was selected in 2007 for the NBA All-Star game. Mason has established a reputation in the city of Detroit for his charitable contributions and direct involvement with his listening audience. He won a local television Emmy Award for a video music show on the NBC local affiliate WDIV Local 4, Detroit. He is currently a radio host on KISS FM Detroit.
