Beasley Media Group Southwest Florida’s WXKB-FM (B103.9) will partner with the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation of Lee County to host the 3rd Annual Big Mama’s Bike Drive.
Big Mama’s Bike Drive will be accepting donations at the Wal-Mart in Estero from Monday, December 7th until Thursday, December 10th, 2020. WXKB-FM will be broadcasting live all week long, encouraging listeners and businesses to stop by and donate a bike or an unwrapped toy. Last year, 947 bikes were raised in addition to $17,750 in gift cards and cash for the Toys for Tots Foundation. The station’s goal this year is to raise 10,000 toys, 1,000 bikes and $20,000 in gift cards and cash for the local community.
“The need is three times bigger than last year so we are doing it three times longer with three times the goal,” said WXKB’s Jason “Big Mama” Jones. “Together we can make sure Christmas is magical not just for some kids, but for all kids in our community.”
About the Toys for Tots Foundation:
The mission of the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation is to assist the U. S. Marine Corps in providing a tangible sign of hope to economically disadvantaged children at Christmas. This assistance includes providing day-to-day leadership and oversight of the Program, raising funds to provide toys to supplement the collections of local Toys for Tots Campaigns, to provide promotional and support material and defray the costs of conducting annual Toys for Tots Campaigns. Other Foundation support includes providing administrative, advisory, financial, logistic and promotional support to local Toys for Tots Coordinators; managing funds raised and monies donated based on the use of Toys for Tots name or logo; providing other support the Marine Corps, as a federal agency, cannot provide; and conducting public education and information programs about Toys for Tots that call the general public to action in support of this patriotic community action program.
