The annual event, presented by the NAB Leadership Foundation (NABLF), the philanthropic arm of the National Association of Broadcasters (NAB), pays tribute to the outstanding public service commitment of local radio and television broadcasters.
Beasley Media Group was selected in recognition of the company’s Beasley Best Community of Caring initiative that took place throughout the 2018 calendar year. The initiative featured a series of important on-air and online public service campaigns focused on quarterly topics that included bullying, mental health awareness, autism and hunger.
In addition, Beasley Media Group employees participated in special Day of Caring volunteer events that benefited local non-profit and community organizations in the markets they serve.
WMMR-FM’s Preston and Steve Morning Show was selected in recognition of their tireless efforts with the “Camp Out for Hunger” Food Drive to benefit Philabundance, which provides food to needy families and individuals throughout Philadelphia. It is the single largest collection of its kind in the United States.
Both awards will be officially presented on stage during the Service to America Celebration event on Monday, June 11th at the Anthem in Washington, DC.
