Beasley Esports announces Matt Iorio has been named General Manager of the Houston Outlaws. He will begin his new role, effectively immediately.
Iorio is no stranger to the Overwatch league. As a former player, Matt was ranked as one of the top OWL players in season #1 and had the opportunity to play aside highly skilled, competitive and entertaining players that ignited the Outlaws fan base and launched the league. Since leaving the team’s roster this past year, Matt has taken on a leadership role with the players and has been instrumental in steering the Outlaws through COVID as well as expanding the team’s online play and activations.
“I couldn’t be more pleased to announce Matt Iorio’s appointment to General Manager of the Houston Outlaws,” said Beasley Esports Chief Operating Officer Lori Burgess. “Matt’s work ethic and experience as a top OWL player as well as his insights about the game, players and business of running an esports franchise, made him the perfect candidate for this role. I am counting on Matt to help us scout and support our 2021 roster as we prepare to become a winning franchise and esports business.”
\”I am excited to take on this larger role as we work to elevate the Outlaws standing in the Overwatch League,” said Iorio. “It seems like the perfect moment to take our western franchise to the next level and solidify its legacy as a team destined to win with fans and our sponsors.\”
This appointment marks the second recent senior level leadership announcement as the Outlaws work to energize the franchise with more heavyweight talent poised to go the distance.
Your point of view caught my eye and was very interesting. Thanks. I have a question for you.
