Las Vegas, NV (October 14, 2025): Longtime 96.3 KKLZ-FM morning host Mike O’Brian has announced that he will retire at the end of October, concluding an extraordinary broadcasting career spanning nearly 40 years with Beasley Media Group and leaving an indelible mark on the Las Vegas radio landscape.

The station will celebrate O’Brian’s legendary career throughout the month of October with on-air tributes, special guests, and listener memories. His final broadcast will be Friday, October 31, 2025.

O’Brian, best known as co-host of the iconic “Mike & Carla Morning Show,” has been a staple of Southern Nevada mornings since the early 1990s. His quick wit, relatable humor, and genuine connection with listeners have made him one of the region’s most beloved and respected on-air personalities.

In 2025, The Nevada Broadcasters Association honored O’Brian with the “Southern Nevada Lifetime Achievement Award” for his decades of dedicated service and entertainment on-air, recognizing a career that has defined morning radio for generations of listeners in Las Vegas and beyond.

“Mike is one of those rare broadcasters who truly becomes part of people’s lives,” said Justin Chase, Chief Content Officer of Beasley Media Group. “For close to 40 years, he’s been the voice Las Vegas wakes up to – making us laugh, think, and feel connected. His passion, talent, and heart have made a lasting impact on KKLZ and Las Vegas.  We are very grateful for all he’s done.”

Throughout his career, O’Brian has earned numerous accolades, including multiple “Best Morning Show” awards and honors for his community service. Beyond the studio, he has been a tireless supporter of local causes, always using his platform to give back to the community he loves.

“Hosting this show has truly been the honor of a lifetime,” said O’Brian. “When I started in radio, I never imagined I’d spend decades waking up with Las Vegas – laughing with our listeners, sharing stories, and being part of their daily lives. I’m humbled by the recognition and deeply grateful for the memories. I’d like to thank Carla, my KKLZ family, and the Beasleys for an incredible journey – one filled with joy, laughter, and connections I’ll treasure forever.”

His longtime co-host Carla Rea added, “Working with Mike has been the highlight of my career. He’s more than a co-host — he’s a partner and a dear friend. I couldn’t be happier for him as he begins this next chapter, and I know our listeners feel the same!”
