Lake Como, NJ (11/2/18): Beasley Media Group, LLC; a subsidiary of Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: BBGI) announces WRAT-FM will present the 20th annualBroadcast for the People of New Jersey Thanksgiving Season Collection Drive. The event will take place November 19- 20, 2018 at the Shoprite location on Route 66 (2200 Asbury Avenue) in Neptune, New Jersey.
The live broadcast will take place from 6:00 a.m. through midnight on Monday, November 19 and continue on Tuesday, November 20 from 6:00 a.m. until 7 p.m.
The station will once again attempt to fill a 55-foot tractor trailer with items to be donated to three local non-profit organizations, including Fulfill (formerly known as the Food Bank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties), the Family Resource Associates and Holiday Express.
Donations may include (but are not limited to):
- Non-perishable food items
- Frozen turkeys
- New or gently used clothing
- Playing Cards

WRAT On Air Personality Gotts will be on-site to accept donations.
Anyone interested in starting a mini-collection may go to www.wrat.com to download a “HELP THE WRAT: DONATE HERE” sign and drop off what is collected on behalf of the organization.
“The generosity of our listeners is inspiring,” said Doug Sjonvall, marketing director at WRAT-FM. “We’ll be out there – no matter what the weather is! We look forward to filling our 22nd truck with items to benefit needy individuals and families in our community.”
Once packed, the tractor trailer will be taken to the loading dock at Fulfill (Formerly the Foodbank of Monmouth and Ocean Counties) to be unloaded. Volunteers assisting in the distribution of the items will include cadets from McGuire Air Force Base as well as employees from the Pepsi Bottling Company and Shore Point Distributing.
