BOSTON, MA — Project Bread, a leading statewide anti-hunger organization in Massachusetts, today announced its partnership with Beasley Media Group Boston, a subsidiary of Beasley Broadcast Group, Inc. According to the two groups, the charitable partnership will be instrumental in driving the success of Project Bread’s 50th Celebration, which begins with the 50th Walk for Hunger & 5K Run, Massachusetts’ largest and longest-running day of awareness and action against hunger, on Sunday, May 6, 2018 on Boston Common.
“Hunger impacts over 726,000 residents in Massachusetts,” said Mary Menna, Beasley Media Group Boston Vice President and Market Manager. “We are excited to offer our resources to help raise awareness for this issue, both among those in need of support and those who can contribute to the solution. Our company is committed to supporting organizations that have a tangible impact on our community. Project Bread has a rich past of anti-hunger advocacy work, strong leadership in the field, and a history of making a difference in the state. We look forward to being their strategic partner to help tackle this problem that affects so many.”
Beasley Media Group, with member stations HOT 96.9, 105.7 WROR, ALT 92.9, Country 102.5, 98.5 The Sports Hub and 1330 WRCA, is donating its support to Project Bread’s year-round efforts to prevent and end hunger in Massachusetts, increase awareness of statewide programs and services available to residents, and promote the 50th Celebration, including the Walk for Hunger & 5K Run on May 6.
“Our motivation for partnering with Beasley Media Group is that they truly care about the issue of hunger in Massachusetts, and they are willing to use their expansive platform for good,” said Erin McAleer, President of Project Bread. “They are as invested as we are in achieving sustainable solutions to end hunger in our state, and we look forward to working with them for our 50th Celebration and beyond.
“Beasley’s family of stations broadcast live and local, and they connect authentically with their listeners at the community level. This partnership was a no-brainer for Project Bread,” McAleer continued. “They are a phenomenal partner, and their stations provide a fantastic vehicle for us to raise awareness about the issue of hunger in our state and the work that Project Bread does to address food insecurity in Massachusetts. We are already seeing the impact of their support.”
